——
Have you ever wondered what it means for man to steal from God’s glory?
First, we have to define what the Glory of God is:
1️⃣ The Glory of God is the Spirit of God. (1 Peter‬ ‭4:14‬ ‭) (‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭11:22‬ )
2️⃣The Glory of God is His bride because the Spirit of God dwells in the bride. His people are his glory and his prized possession. (Revelation‬ ‭21:10-11‬ )
In other words, man brings God glory by allowing God to draw the bride closer to Himself through man.
On the other hand, Man takes God’s glory when they become the source of the bride’s attention instead of God.
When the bride starts to see the man as someone that they need to come to in order to receive the blessing, anointing, and fulfillment that they are looking for, the man becomes the source.
As a result, the bride stops seeking God on her own and struggles to grow in intimacy because there is no personal relationship in the secret place.
It is as if the man is flirting with the bride of Christ instead of preparing her for the marriage of Christ.
In practical terms:
⭐️The more you make ministry about yourself and your own self gain, the more you begin to draw the bride to yourself instead of the Lord.
⭐️Set your mind on helping others become dependent on the Lord and over time they will no longer need to come to you to receive from the Lord.
⭐️We are called to equip the bride to seek the groom by helping others grow in their maturity, intimacy, and giftings in the Lord.
⭐️Go low - The Lord loves humility because He can draw others to himself through you without people thinking that it’s you doing the works.
Instagram post 17863778405198427 How To Grow in Unity as a community
___
Many times in the church it seems like we’ve lost a real aspect of community amongst the people.
So often we only see people at a church service once or twice a week and our conversations are very surface level.
Yet, when we look at the book of acts it says:
“Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart” (Acts 2:46)
The new church didn’t just do ministry together…they did life together, they ate together, and they were sincere with each other.
In other words, they were a family that was united by the Spirit of God.
So how can we grow as a family in our community?
First, we need to be willing to come together in His name and surrender our agendas to the Lord so that He can move freely in our gatherings.
For example, let’s say that you lead a home group / Bible study.
Often times you already have ideas on what you want to teach, what you will say, and how you want the gathering to go.
In a way, it’s all about your plan.
I want to encourage you to simply be open for the Lord to lead it in any direction that He chooses and don’t rely on what you have prepared so much.
You may have planned to talk about David & Goliath, but all of a sudden someone brings up the topic of healing and you sense the Lord leading in that direction.
Maybe God is prompting you to even pray for that person for inner healing in that moment and you’re thinking “but that’s not how we usually do this” or “we still have a whole lesson ahead of us”
Lay it down and go with what the Lord wants.
Make it your goal for your community to encounter Jesus above all else.
You’ll be surprised at the direction the Lord will take it and how precise the theme will be for the group of people you are meeting with - that’s because only the Lord knows what is on the hearts of the people and what needs to happen.
You will watch as God begins to knit your gatherings together in love and unity that will create a family-like atmosphere where believers can be open with each other.
Instagram post 17880205111928869 In the business of this life, it can be difficult to cut out and hour of your day to be with the Lord alone in your room.
Yet, we need to come to a place where we are receiving from God constantly or we will start to spiritually dry out.
So how can we come to a place where we are constantly receiving from the Lord?
Jesus said “but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.” John‬ ‭4:14‬ ‭
The Holy Spirit inside of us is the well that never runs dry. The reason Jesus said we will never thirst is because we have access to the Holy Spirit at any moment of time... not just in our room at home.
All we have to do is look towards the well and drink.
How does this look practically?
Simply put, we have to train ourselves to look towards the Lord in any given moment and receive from His presence.
For those who don’t know how to find the Lord by entering into the Spirit, it will often start in a quiet place where the Lord will teach you where to look.
Once you are able to consistently see the Lord and enter into His presence, He will want you to take this out into other areas of your life.
It starts by making a conscious decision to look towards the Lord in random parts of your day where your mind is free.
This can happen just about anywhere: when you’re driving, at the gym, in the shower, or even at work.
You don’t even have to close your eyes to be able to do this, just begin to look towards the Lord inside of you and you will see Him.
Eventually you get so used to giving your attention to the Lord in these moments, that it will begin to happen naturally and you will be constantly receiving from the Lord.
As a result, you will be refreshed and renewed throughout your day instead of just in your quiet time at home.
Instagram post 17860152533277989 The Process of Humility 🙏🏻
📋Notes:
⭐️There is a process of humility where the Lord takes you from a mindset of “me”to a mindset of We - Where he begins to set your mind on what you can given instead of what you can receive.
⭐️Humility is one of the greatest virtues in the kingdom of heaven.
⭐️Humility puts Jesus and His people first, while putting yourself last.
⭐️Jesus said those who are last will be first and those who are first will be last (Matthew 20:16)
⭐️The greatest place of honor and grace that you will receive from the Lord is at the point of humility.
⭐️You will grow much more quickly in your gifts when you set your mind on how you can bless and serve others.
